Today is Brian’s birthday & we are in Huatulco,
Mexico. We visited this port last year
on our Peru trip. It is a charming
little village that boasts seaside dining and shopping. We took our time in the morning and walked
off the ship about 11am. Folks were
coming back to ship by then, mostly
complaining about the heat. Gee, we thot
it was lovely out, cooler than a Texas summer day-lol!, however the humidity is
a bit higher. We were exploring shops
when we bumped into Susan & Dusty.
Susan & I proceeded perusing shops – we bought nothing as they would
not bargain - and Dusty and Brian found benches to hold down. We took several photos of them and may do a
whole slide show, entitled “Boys on a Bench” – as I am sure they can find more
benches in each port…
Prior to arriving in Huatulco we had 2 wonderful sea
days. My trivia team is kicking ass – at
team trivia the other day we only missed one question and we are the leaders in
Pub Trivia and Name That Tune. In fact
one lady suggested to us that we should split up so other teams had a chance to
win! LOL! Like that would happen… I am getting beat up in the Casino – haven’t
been able to win at blackjack or poker.
Susan won a poker tourney the other day and I am in 3rd, for
no money… Brian I think, is playing even
on the slots and the favorite of the casino staff as he continues to ply them
with chocolates.
The sports activity on board is The HAL Olympics – they
are hosting a ladies & mens event separately. The events are at different times so B & I rarely see each
other on the ship until 5pmish to go to the hot tub. The first activity was ring toss and neither
one of us did well… Then there was ping
pong but the ship has a few “pros” aboard and again we lost. The event that I finally scored in was golf
chipping – I found out after B played that I did the best for women and
men! So now I was tied for first with 2
other ladies. We had basketball
shoot-out yesterday and I came in 2nd – that should put me in first
by myself. Brian is up in the top 5 guys
- later that afternoon and this morning
there was baggo or beanbag toss (not an Olympic event yet) and Brian is the
undefeated champion of baggo. Oh and I keep forgetting to mention, I have been going to the gym & doing 60-100 sit-ups and lifting weights. Also wearing my fitbit and have successfully walked 2 miles or more daily. B keeps wanting to know if we've beeped yet - but if i say yes, he just wants to sit down right then - except we usually have to get back to the ship - lol!
Although today is B’s Natal Day we will celebrate it
tomorrow night with the gang and enjoy a marvelous meal in The Pinnacle Grill
once again. Tomorrow is another port day
as we will be in Puerto Chiapas, Mexico.
So I will check in again with ya’ll from there… Buenos Dias
